We are celebrating, we are 50 years old! It seems easy to write a simple number like 50, but creating and maintaining a company for that number of years is not easy at all.
We are proud to be what we are and what we have achieved, so today, to celebrate this important milestone for us, we want to tell you a little more about Baerchi and what our path has been like to this day.
What is our History?
On July 10, 1972, a father (Antonio Bautista Romojaro) and his two sons (José Luis and Jesús Bautista Hernández) decided to take the big step and start an exciting project: manufacturing shoes in a small town in Toledo, Fuensalida. All under the name of Creaciones Baher. It was not until 1986, when the company was renamed as we know it today, Baerchi.
Just as the name of the company has changed over the years, so has the manufacturing process of our footwear. Today we have the latest technologies in our manufacturing process, but this has not always been the case. In our beginnings, production was almost 100% manual. We only had a few machines that helped in some specific processes of the production chain, the rest was done by our workers with their own hands.

Many things have changed over 50 years, but something has remained: the importance of workers. Baerchi’s human capital has been, is and will be the most important pillar of the company. The work they perform, both in the production process and in the rest of the departments, has made it possible to maintain our philosophy of QUALITY, DESIGN AND COMFORT in each and every one of our shoes over the years.
Currently, we have an internal team of 65 people, but to that we must add the more than 300 who work for the company indirectly. Thanks to their daily work and professionalism, it has been possible for us to show in each shoe our hallmark of quality, comfort and design, reflected in the brand image we have 50 years later.

Thanks also to this work, we have gone from selling between 8 and 10 models at a local and provincial level, to having a global commercial network in which we sell our products to more than 30 countries, including Colombia, Peru, Chile, Mexico, USA, South Korea, New Zealand, also in the African continent and, of course, in Europe to countries such as Ireland, Bulgaria, Portugal, Italy, Germany and France among many others.
Even with a globalized market, for us the national market is still our top priority, even more so because of what “Made in Spain” represents in our philosophy and because we do not forget who we are and where we come from.
What is Baerchi?
If we had to describe our company in one word it would be FAMILY. More than a great company, we are a family. After 50 years, the colleagues are brothers.
The essence of the brand lies in our values, concepts that have accompanied us for 50 years and that will continue to do so for the rest of the way: Quality, design and comfort. Without forgetting, of course, the professionalism and experience of our workers who make up the 100% Spanish manufacturing that characterizes each of our shoes.
Just as we have grown, so has our competition, but at Baerchi we have been able to face them and stay on top of things. Our secret? Working daily to offer each of our customers a unique shoe. Made with the best quality leathers and soles, studied lasts, the most comfortable insoles… All this at a competitive price. In short, we have positioned ourselves as the best footwear option on the market in terms of value for money.

What Will Baerchi be like in 10 Years?
Not only are we celebrating our 50th anniversary on July 10, but we hope to continue celebrating many more. Our 10-year goal? It’s easy. To continue strengthening international markets, as well as to promote and improve the presence and image of the brand, both nationally and internationally. Always keeping abreast of fashion trends to offer a current design to our customers, while making available to them the most comfortable footwear for men and women.
If we had to take stock of all these years, we would say that the trajectory has been long and extensive, with experiences and experiences of all kinds, going through exceptional years and deep crises at a national and international level; taking advantage of the good years to improve and the difficult years to learn, something that we have not stopped doing today.
We have evolved with the types of footwear, the materials used, with fashions and with so many other situations that put us to the test every year that passes… Each evolution of the collection has been based on those experiences, on the trajectory and on the philosophy engraved in fire of creating 100% made in Spain shoes, with the personality of offering QUALITY, DESIGN AND COMFORT, with the best possible value for money.
All this has been what has made us become one of the most important family businesses in Spain dedicated to the manufacture of footwear.
